LED vs Halogen vs HID: Which Headlight Wins?

Choosing between LED, halogen and HID lighting is the single biggest decision when upgrading your vehicle's optics. Each technology has a distinct personality, and the right choice depends on how and where you drive.

Halogen bulbs are the factory standard on most vehicles. They're cheap and easy to replace, but they run hot, burn out fast, and produce a warm yellow beam that struggles in heavy weather. If budget is your only concern, halogens work — but they leave a lot of performance on the table.

HID (High-Intensity Discharge) kits use a xenon arc to produce a crisp, bright output with a distinctive blue-white hue. They throw light far down the road, but require ballasts, warm-up time, and careful aiming to avoid blinding oncoming traffic.

LED conversion kits are the modern sweet spot: instant-on, extremely efficient, cool-running, and rated for 30,000+ hours. Quality kits like our Titan series use copper-braid heat management to mimic a factory halogen filament pattern — no glare, no dark spots, and a clean cutoff.

Our verdict: for the vast majority of drivers, a CANbus-ready LED conversion delivers the best blend of brightness, longevity and plug-and-play simplicity.
